Bananaman Triathlon - Last minute tips!
This afternoon I will participate in the Bananaman Triathlon and I' looking forward to this one. The weather looks to be great, not too hot but not too cold either. Whilst packing my bag this morning I was mentally visualizing the T1 transition. Here are some short last minute tips which could prove to be useful.
- Visualize T1 transition and T2 transition.
- Start the bike leg with a lower gear with high cadence.
- End the bike leg with a lower gear with high cadence.
- Eat and drink on the bike.
- Don't draft as you will be penalized.
- Eat some nuts before the race.
- Stretch before the race start, especially legs but also arms.
- Visualize the entry and exit for bike and run.
- Visualize the swimming buoys, remember to sight whilst swimming.
- Place your bike in a low gear in the transition and know where your bike is.
- Position myself on the outside of the swim.
- Get used to the water, get into the water as soon as I can.
- Pack your bag with plenty of time.
- Relax and have fun.
