Swim/bike training and reducing my carbon footprint!

Yesterday I went for a swim training during the evening and normally I tend to jump into my car with my swim bag. But yesterday I jumped on my bike went for a 20K bike and then head for the swimming pool. After my session at the pool I returned immediately home on my bike.

I can see two advantages with this: 1) I had two workouts in one hit 2) I reduced my carbon footprint but the disadvantage was that I had to take two showers. After my workout in the pool I took a shower but after my bike ride I had to take another shower. Well I can only say that the evening was wet and enjoyable. Total training time was 1hour 30minutes, exclusief showering.

Normally I drag myself out of bed at 5:30am during the week, jump in car, and make sure that I'm in the pool by 6:30am and then I can head for work at 7:45am. But for some reason I feel very tired during the morning sessions and cannot come out of bed until at least one hour later.

Anyway the training session from yesterday was great. I noticed a few people training for a Triathlon in the pool and I was asked to follow them in sessions of 4*50m at high speed. I can assure you that I'm still a level lower and that my heart was burning from that workout. I guess you only do this type of workout once in a while, but I really enjoyed it!

Weird how pain can be so enjoyable! Maybe I'm just a little bit mad!

PS: Reminds me on the song from Queen: I' going slightly mad. What a tune!
